NSE launches India’s first dedicated debt trading platform in Mumbai

The National Stock Exchange-NSE-launched India’s first dedicated debt trading platform in Mumbai yesterday. This trading platform is expected to provide an opportunity to retailers to invest in corporate bonds on a liquid and transparent exchange platform.

Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, MD and CEO Chitra Ramkrishna said that the NSE will try to bring in liquidity to the platform, which will benefit the entire eco-system of issuers, institutions and retail investors.

She added that the NSE was now waiting for guidelines from SEBI allowing mutual funds, insurance companies and pension funds to participate in the debt segment.
