The Bhilai Steel Plant bags the Prime Minister’s Trophy for the 10th Time

On 24 August 2012, Bhilai Steel Plant bags the prestigious Prime Minister's Trophy for the 10th time. Bhilai Steel plant is one of Steel Authority of India's flagship units and India’s largest public sector steel maker, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). It has an annual production capacity of over 5 million tones. The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh is scheduled to give away the trophy to Bhilai Steel Plant, for its performance in 2009-10.The award consists of a cash component of Rs. 2 crore, is given to integrated steel plants (ISPs) on the basis of an evaluation by a panel of judges appointed every year.
