Former Guv'nor Rama Devi passes away;K'taka declares state mourning

The Karnataka State Government has declared a three day state mourning from today as a mark of respect to V.S.Ramadevi, former Governor of Karnataka, who passed away last evening. She died of a massive cardiac arrest in Bangalore.
She was 79. She served as the Chief Election Commissioner of India for a very short time from November 26, 1990 to December 11, 1990. 
Later she had served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from July 26, 1997 to December 1, 1999 and as the Governor of Karnataka from December 2, 1999 to August 20, 2002. Her body will be flown to Hyderabad and will be cremated there.
