Kapilavastu to get school under Nepal-India Economic co-operation programme

India will give a grant assistance of 4.14 crore nepali rupees for construction of a school building in Kapilvastu district.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on yesterday between the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, District Development Committee, Kapilvastu and Shree Higher Secondary School for providing the assistance for the construction of a three - storied school building under Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme.

Established in 1979 as a Primary School and subsequently upgraded to Higher Secondary level in 2009, Shree Higher Secondary School is situated at Barkalpur, Imiliya in Kapilvastu District.

The new building, being constructed with Indian grant assistance, is expected to help in creating better facilities for over thousand students, about fifty percent are girls.

According to a press release, in addition to this project, work is ongoing on three other projects at a cost of 9.56 crore nepali rupees in Kapilvastu district. India has also provided four ambulances and one school bus in the district.
